Recycling has never been easier. With single stream recycling, residents don't need to sort their recyclables. All recyclable materials can be placed in the 95-gallon cart. Please rinse food containers before placing in the recycle cart.

Setting up Recycling Service

Recycling service is established at the same time as trash service. If you would like an additional recycle cart, contact Community Waste Disposal (CWD) at 972.392.9300 (option 2). A charge for each additional cart will appear on your City of Allen monthly utility bill.

Moving In? Give Us a Call!

Residents moving to Allen may take advantage of a one-time service to collect flattened and stacked cardboard boxes.
  • New residents must call Community Services at 214.509.4551 before noon on Friday to arrange a one-time cardboard collection for Saturday pickup.  Place flattened and stacked cardboard out by 7 a.m. where trash is normally collected.
  • Up to seven boxes of packing paper (no bubble wrap, packing peanuts or foam) may be collected during the same one-time service.
Regular Cardboard Pickup Schedule
  • Emptied and flattened cardboard tied with biodegradable twine will be collected on your regular trash service day, Monday through Friday (excluding holidays).  Place cardboard bundle out by 7 a.m. at least two feet from  cart(s).

Collection Day

Recyclables are picked up every other week on your designated trash day. Find your designated recycling day using the map and schedule in the Annual Trash and Recycling Guidelines.

Note: 1st and 3rd/2nd and 4th recycling collection schedule is no longer active. Please disregard any stickers left on reconditioned containers and follow the assigned schedule for your area. Contact Community Waste Disposal (CWD), at 972.392.9300 (option 2) for information.
